About this event:

In Turkey, women get together periodically to mingle. These gatherings include food, hospitality and gold or money! It’s called “Altin Gunu”.

During these meetups, women bring gold coins or money to the host. Hosting rotates among members, allowing each one to save while bonding. It’s a joyful way to save money while enjoying time with friends and food.

As Lokum Eats and Heart Pottery, we want to introduce this collective tradition to you. A themed menu inspired by Turkish Altin Guns has been created for this event. While enjoying the food and drinks, you’ll be guided through ceramic making by Gardiner Museum’s Hatice Erdogan.

Will our mugs be glazed and fired?
Yes, we will fire and glaze all pieces to make them food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe.

Can we paint the mugs during the workshop?
Yes! We will provide underglaze paints during the session.

Can we take home the mugs on the same day?
No. The full ceramic process takes time. After creating and painting your mugs, we will handle drying, first firing, glazing, final firing, and wrapping. You’ll be notified via email when your piece is ready for pickup.
